You can help a child like Muthumari become a change-maker and overcome poverty for good.

When we first met Muthumari, she was a bright, curious child at a school camp in 2019.

But soon we discovered the weight she carried—her father was disabled after an accident, her mother was struggling with illness, and at just 11 years old, Muthumari was working in a flower shop while caring for her two little sisters.

Even with so many responsibilities, her spirit shines. She is quick to learn, talented in theatre, and happiest when she is at our Hub.

She told us: "I went to the summer camp, I found myself through drawing, painting and theatre. I finally know myself through theatre. This is the one - this is what I want to participate in. I can easily shout and raise my voice."

"My dream is to become a doctor, to give people treatment for free. In the gov hospital people spend a lot of time to see a doctor. I wants to speed that up for people so they don’t have to wait."

But her family still struggles for food, and her education is at risk. For families like this, Paper Boat is a lifeline.

With your support, Muthumari can continue to grow with her sisters, and step into the brighter future she deserves.
